Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent damage of solid electrolyte being placed for a long period in high temperature furnace or exhaust gas passage, and enable checking and calibration in the installed state, by telescopically providing solid electrolyte on the calibration gas lead-in pipe, without affixing to the protective pipe.
CONSTITUTION: An outside electrode 12 and an inside electrode 13 are affixed to the inside and outside of a cylindrical solid electrolyte 11 opened at both ends, respectively, and a calibration gas lead-in pipe 15 having a calibration gas nozzle 14 to blow out calibration gas to make contact with the surface of the outside electrode 12 is installed in a protective pipe 16, together with said electrolyte. A reference gas exhaust port 17 opened to the furnace is provided at the forefront of the protective pipe 16, and a flow-in port 18 and a flow-out port 17 for the gas being measured are provided in the outer circumference of the electrolyte 11. A reference gas lead-in pipe 20 is inserted into the inside electrode 13 in the inside of the rear end of the electrolyte 11, and the end thereof is opened to said reference gas exhaust port to be communicated thereto. The gaps among the electrolyte 11, calibration gas lead-in pipe 15 and protective pipe 16 are filled up with ceramic fiber 21, so that the electrolyte may be held in a freely telescopic manner without affixing it.
