Abstract

PURPOSE: To stabilize the temperature-resistance characteristics at a high temperature by equipping a high temperature detector, which uses such a thermister as is buried in a protecting metal pipe with the use of insulating refractory powders, with an air supply pipe for supplying atmospheric air to a thermister arranging portion.
CONSTITUTION: A high temperature detecting thermister 13 is arranged in a protecting metal pipe 11 which is covered with a protecting pipe 12 and which has its one end closed. The resultant output is led out of the lead wires 14 and 14 of the termister 13 through electrode wires 15 and 15. An air supply pipe 17 is arranged along the wires 15 and 15 such that its leading end reaches the vicinity of the arranging portion of the thermister 13. The gap in the protecting pipe 11 is charged with insulating refractory powders 18, thereby to constitute a high temperature detector. By the construction thus far described, the thermister arranging portion receives sufficient air supply so that it is free from an oxygen-defficient condition even when it is used at a higher temperature than 500°C and so that the resistance change of the detector can be so reduced as to effect the stable measurements.
