Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve cooling effects, by propagating heat even in the diameter direction by inserting a pipe with double cylinder structure into a collector ring and by letting cooling gas pass through an inner cylinder pipe while hermetically sealing a condensing liquid between the inner cylinder pipe and an outer cylinder pipe.
CONSTITUTION: An outer cylinder pipe 8 with double cylinder structure piercing in the axial direction at regular intervals in the circumferential direction is insertion fixed to the end plates 7 of both end surfaces in the axial direction of a collector ring 3, and radiators 9 are mounted to portions projecting from the end plates 7. A cooling gas ventilating hole 13 is formed by means of an inner cylinder pipe 12 while a condensing liquid 10 with the great latent heat of vaporization is hermetically sealed in a sealing chamber 11 between the outer cylinder pipe 8 and the inner cylinder pipe 12. Thus, the liquid 10 is biased to one side of the sealing chamber 11 by centrifugal force, evaporated here and condensed at the rotor shaft 1 side, and heat is propagated even in the diameter direction of the collector ring through cooling gas in the inner cylinder pipe 12. Consequently, the collector ring can uniformly be cooled without regard to the length of the collector ring.
