Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate partial or uneven fogs and obtain the copying images of high image quality by disposing a magnetic material on the back of an electrostatic latent image carrier and disturbing the directions of the magnetic lines of force produced by magnetic field generating means within an arbitrary time. CONSTITUTION:Rotable magnetic rotators 12 are provided above the back of an electrostatic latent image carrier, i.e., above a non-magnetic material 4. Each of the rotators 12 comprises securing a vane plate 12a in the horizontal direction and a vane plate 12b in the perpendicular direction at the center and mounting turning support shafts 13 at both ends in the lengthwise direction. The rotators 12 are so arranged as to be held turned at all times in the arrow direction or controlled and turned only during development, by drive devices. The magnetic lines of force in the developing area are prevented from going toward the stationary magnet group in the sleeve 5 by these magnetic rotators 12. Thereby, partial photographic fogs and uneven fogs may be readily eliminated and the copied images of high image quality are obtained.
