Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a radiation energy monitor for improving the safety and reliability of generating radioactive rays by measuring irradiated radiation energy by the monitor having predetermined configuration in real time and enabling installation of an interlock unit in case except for the allowable range.
CONSTITUTION: Radiation intensity detectors 23a, 23b are provided at different depth positions in phantom 22 equivalent to human body, water, etc. forming a radiation energy monitor. The divider 29 of the detector circuit in the monitor determines the ratio of the detected outputs corresponding to the radiation energies of the detectors 23a, 23b, and the radiation energy value measured in real time is displayed on a display unit 31 through an amplifier 30. On the other hand, the output from the amplifier 30 is applied to comparators 33a, 33b set at the allowable upper and lower limits of the radiation energy of an interlock circuit 32. Thus, when the radiation energy is out of the allowable range, a positive logic AND gate 35 produces a high level interlock output to thereby stop the radioactive rays to thereby provide a radiation energy monitor for improving the safety and reliability of generating the radioactive rays.
