Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable monitoring of radiation energy readily and rapidly by a radiation monitor by providing radiation intensity detectors in deep portions of different phantom coated by radiation shield on the outer periphery thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A radiation monitor 21 installed at the position irradiated by radioactive rays is surrounded by a radiation shield 37 for shielding scattered radioactive rays or the like on the outer periphery thereof and formed by the phantom 22 of material equivalent to water and human body or the like with radiation intensity detectors 23a, 23b installed at the positions of different depths d1, d2 of the phantom 22. Since these detectors 23a, 23b eliminate the complicated operations of varying the depth positions of the detectors for the various radiation energy in response to the ratios of radiation intensity detected values DE1 to DE2 or DF1 to DF2, it can readily and rapidly measure the actual time.
