Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a silencer apparatus which has a remarkably simple constitution and in which low-frequency pulsation noise having engine explosion frequency and secondary and tertiary frequencies on the basis of said engine explosion frequency can be reduced.

CONSTITUTION: The inside of a silencer apparatus body 1 is divided into a second and a first expansion chambers 3 and 2, and a first and second resonance chambers 4 and 5, from left in the longitudinal direction, and an exhaust pipe 6 is arranged which pentrates the second expansion chamber 3 and opens inside the first expansion chamber 2. A first resonance pipe 7 which communicates to the first resonance chamber 4 opens in the first expansion chamber 2 at a fixed interval from the end of the exhaust pipe 6, positioned nearly on the elongated line from the exhaust pipe 6, and inside said resonance pipe 7, a second resonance pipe 8 is arranged which is elongated furthermore from the first resonance pipe 7 and communicates to the second resonance chamber 5. Both resonance chambers 4 and 5 communicate through a small hole 9, and both expansion chambers 2 and 3 communicate through an exhaust introducing pipe 10, and the second expansion chamber 3 communicates to the atmosphere through an exhaust exit pipe 11.
