Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent discharge of vaporized gas and improve the strength of a low temperature tank, by composing the tank with an external tank, roof equipped with skirt, elastic plates fitted watertight inside the skirt, bent connected gastight with the elastic plates and an internal tank suspended from the bent. CONSTITUTION:As an inner tank 3 is filled with liquefied gas, the inner tank is cooled and its upper rim is lowered due to contraction. Plates 6 fitted to the internal circumference of the upper rim and a bent 7 connected with the internal circumference of the plates are then bent downward as a cantilever spring to adapt themselves to contraction of the inner tank 3. Accordingly the side wall of the inner tank is not broken due to contraction. Vaporized gas, normally contained in a space formed between the upper surface of liquid stored and a roof 4, never leaks out in the rear of the inner tank 3 and into the atmospheric air through the external tank 1 because of the plates 6 and bent 7.
