Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the dirt produced on the inside surface of the product and enable socket joint parts, etc. to be made to finished parts in a cast state by increasing the binder concentration of the coating inside surface side and decreasing the binder concentration of the casting material side.
CONSTITUTION: In wet spray coating to be applied to casting material, a high- viscosity binder slurry thickened with bentonite or water glass is coated on the inside surface side of said material and a low-concentration viscosity slurry of less binder is coated on its mold side. By using two kinds of slurries in this way, the required coating layer is formed. Thereby, the problems of dirt production and casting surface defect production are simultaneously eliminated and it becomes possible to produce the cast products such as ductile cast iron pipe to specified shape, etc. as cast.
