Abstract

PURPOSE:To broaden the working range of driving voltages impressed on an electromechanical transducer by contacting an ink column grown from the tip end of a nozzle hole with a recording medium to record an image. CONSTITUTION:In an ink jet recorder wherein driving voltage signals for image recording are impressed on an electromechanical transducer 13 arranged in correspondence with an ink chamber to grow an ink column 21 from a nozzle hole 17 for recording an image, the column 21 as it is before the generation of ink particles 3 and/or small-sized ink particles 3' is contacted with a recording medium 4 to record the image. EFFECT:The recorder can be used with the driving voltage signals enhanced even to over-exciting condition, and is less affected by ambient temperature changes.
