Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform inspection at a low cost through simple operation in a short time, by coating the inside surface of an outer box of an oil-imersed stationary apparatus with a detecting liquid which shows a fluorescent color and has a high penetrative capacity and by irradiating the outside surface of the outer box by an ultraviolet lamp or the like.
CONSTITUTION: A detecting liquid 14, which shows a fluorescent color and has a high penetrative capacity, is coated on the inside of a welded outer box 10 for an oil-immersed statinary apparatus by brushing, spraying or the like as holes 12a, 12b, etc. of the outer box 10 remain open. At that time, it is sufficient to coat the liquid on nothing but the welded part W of the outer box 10. The outside surface of the outer box is irradiated with ultraviolet rays from an ultraviolet lamp 16. If there is perforated defect in the welded part W or the like of the outer box 10, the detecting liquid 14 oozes to the outside surface of the outer box 10 and is illuminated by the ultraviolet rays. Therefore, the perforated defect can be detected. A detecting liquid on the market can be used for the detection.
