Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain sufficient antiskid effect of an antiskid unit for an automotive tire by combining a mounting member fixed from the outside of a wheel core to an axle by utlizing a bolt rod and an antiskid member made of metallic rod for connecting antiskid pieces. CONSTITUTION:Two antiskid pieces 14, 14 of an antiskid member 9 are provided along the opposite surface of a tire tread, a lower metallic rod 15b is engaged with the lower portion of the groove 11 of a mounting member 8, an upper metallic rod 15a is manually pulled to expand the interval between the rods 15a and 15b to be thus engaged with the upper portion of the groove 11, and the pieces 14, 14 are thus contacted with the tread of a tire 4. The tire is fixed by the elastic recovering force of the rods 15a, 15b engaged with the groove 11 to grip the mounting member 8 thus expanded. Thus, when the tire slides, the antiskid pieces 14 are entered between the tire and snow to allow lugs 16 to be inserted into the snow to be thus forwarded. This operation is repeated at every half rotation to thereby prevent the tire from sliding.
