Abstract

PURPOSE:To render a waste water including harmful heavy metals to be harmless by using mixed powder of fine mineral powder and surfactant to absorb such water to be followed by sintering process. CONSTITUTION:A uniform mixt. is formed from 96-97wt% of fine mineral powder such as clay, kaolin, talc, 5wt% of bentonite as binder, and 1-2wt% of surfactant. The mixed powder is added to 20-25wt% of industrial waste water including heavy metals and molded after blending. The molded product is dried in air and, after being enamelled, heated at 1100-1300 deg.C for sintering. This allows heavy metals to be sintered into the crystal structure of mineral material and solidified. When the sintered material is immersed in water, metal is not allowed to be dissolved in the water.
