Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the life of ozonizer by forming discharge gaps on the sides of dielectric prepared by sealing electrodes between ceramics.
CONSTITUTION: On one side of each ceramic plate 5 metallic paste 6, such as tungsten higher in melting point than the burning temperature of ceramic plate 5 is coated in a thickness of 10 to 20 microns by screen printing or the like. Another ceramic plate is overlaid on the other side of paste layer, heat pressed, and burned under a reducing atmosphere to form dielectric plate 7 combined in one body with a metallic film sealed in ceramics. A plurality of these dielectric plates are arranged using spacers 8, and each metallic film is used as an electrode, alternately used for high voltage one and grounding one. Gaps 4 form silent discharging chambers. Oxygen passing through the chambers do not directly contact to the electrodes, permitting danger of deterioration due to ozone or concentrated nitric acid gas or the like to be prevented.
