Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase fuel supply rate effectively at the time of starting or rapid acceleration of a diesel engine, by connecting a freely movable, slide shaft to fuel controlling governor means.
CONSTITUTION: Adjustment screw 15 threaded with output shaft 13 of fuel controlling governor is connected with a slide shaft 11 adapted for determining the maximum fuel flow rate. The shaft 11 is engaged with rack 7 with its pinion 10 in rack cace 9. At an upper portion of this rack 7, there is fixed a piston 2 which is slided in hydralic cylinder 1 and defines an air chamber 4 and an atmospheric chamber 5. Further, a hydraulic piston 21 forming a hydraulic chamber 30 is disposed upwardly of the piston 2. By means of pump 25 driven by starter 24, oil is introduced into hydraulic chamber 30 for increasing fuel supply at the time of starting engine. On the other hand, air is supplied to air chamber 4 by means of an air pump (not shown) corresponding to the revolutional speed of engine, which causes shifting of shaft 11. Along with shifting of shaft 11 to the right in the drawing, the maximum fuel flow rate can be increased.
