Abstract

PURPOSE: Defatted soybean is crushed with impact and separated into fractions with sieves, then impact grinding is repeated and separation is effected using wind, thus removing the nonprotein fraction and collecting powdery soybean with increased protein content.
CONSTITUTION: Defatted soybean is crushed so that 70W90% becomes a powder of less than 800μm particle sizes. When the particle sizes of crushed soybean is larger than the above size, the part of the albumen is insufficiently crushed and the difference in particle size from the skin becomes less, consequently the skin cannot be removed selectively by sieving. When the particle size is smaller, the particle size of the skin becomes the same level as that orginating from the protein part and they cannot be separated. The resulting crushed product is sieved with a sieve of 600W 1000μm to remove the skin with larger particle sizes. The remaining portion is further crushed so that 70W95% become less than 30μm particle sizes and the product is separated with wind to collect the portion with 25W35μm particle sizes.
