Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the position of a magnetic head judging from ON-OFF states of a switch which detects a magnetic-head fitting base being near a reference track and that which detects one position of a motor shaft in a single rotation. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic head 12, arranged in contact with running magnetic tape 11 of any fixed head type VTR, is fixed to head base 13 with female screw 16. Male screw part 15, moving this head base 13 in the width direction of magnetic tape 11, is rotated by driving pulse motor 21 through pulley 24. Then, microswitches 28 and 29 are provided opposing to set element 27 fixed on the reverse surface of head base 13 and motor shaft 20. Only when magnetic head 12 reaches the lowermost track (of four ones in the figure) through ON-OFF operations of microswithces according to positions of tracks on tape 11, a control circuit is connected to GND, thereby prevending magnetic head 12 from further lowering.
