Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the degree of working of one pass and improve working efficiency by series-arraying plural fluid lubricated wire drawing dies by way of sealant.
CONSTITUTION: When lubricant 4 is supplied to a die 2, it deposits on the surface of an aluminum coated steel wire 1 and is drawn into the die 2. It is gradually boosted by the lead-in part 2a and is abruptly boosted by the working part 2b. In this way the outside surface of the steel wire 1 is reduced without making direct contact with the inside surface of the die 2 by the high-pressure lubricating film between the outside surface of the aluminum coated steel wire 1 and the inside surface of the die 2. The steel wire is then led into the die 2' past the die 2. Then, the lubricant 4 is filled around the steel wire 1 in the hermetic chamber between the die 2 and 2' and the lubricating film of high pressing force is formed by the lead-in part 2'a and working part 2'b of the die 2', whereby the steel wire is drawn.
