Abstract

PURPOSE: To mass-produce temperature sensors with a high response speed and various sensitivities by combining a piezoelectric vibrator with high stress dependency of an oscillation frequency and a member differing in thermal expansivity from it.
CONSTITUTION: To piezoelectric vibrating body (e.g. single-axis rotation type AT- cut crystal vibrator) 1 high in stress dependency of an oscillation frequency and low in temperature dependency, temperature sensing members (e.g. members formed in a dome shape with air holes 213 and 223 using Al, AG, etc.) 21 and 22 higher in thermal expansivity and large in thermal conductivity than piezoelectric vibrating body 1 are fixed by adhesive parts 212 and 222 from both sides at the circumference of piezoelectric vibrating body 1, thereby forming a temperatre sensor. In this sensor, piezoelectric vibrating body 1 is applied with stress as shown by arrows F1 and F2 as a temperature rises and falls and variation in oscillation frequency due to the pressure is electrically detected through electrodes 111 and 112, electric signal lead-out paths 113 and 114, and leads 31 and 32, so that the temperature will be measured by using this signal.
