Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain power necessary in manifold system self-sufficiently by supplying a thermoelectric element with its one face in contact with water temperature of the sea bottom and the other face in contact with temperature of oil or gas spouting from the sea bottom with the difference of these temperatures.
CONSTITUTION: Spouting oil and gas are collected in a manifold system 10 and then allowed to flow in the direction indicated by arrow by way of a pipe 11, a heat exchange unit 12 and a riser pipe 13. A heat of oil and gas is given to a heat medium 14 at the heat exchange unit 12, and the heat medium 14 is in contact with a thermoelectric element 15 at its one face. On the other hand, the sea water is in contact with the other face of the thermoelectric element 15 by way of a heating plate 16. The thermoelectric element 15 therefore generates an induced voltage according to the difference of both temperatures on an output terminal 17. Desired voltage and current are hence obtainable through providing a multitude of thermoelectric elements 15 and connecting them in series and parallel, and power necessary in the manifold system 10 can be supplied self-sufficiently.
