Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a stabilizer for a halogen-containing resin, having excellent compatibility to halogen-containing resins, and giving a resin compound having low stickiness and high plate-out resistance, by adding a carboxylic acid to an alkyltin derivative, and reacting the mixture with an oxide or a hydroxide of a specific metal.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A dialkyltin oxide of formula I (R is 1W8C alkyl) is reacted with (B) one or more compounds selected from (a) an unsaturated dibasic acid half ester of formula II (R' is 1W30C alkyl, cyclohexyl, or benzyl; R" is H or 1W4C alkyl), (b) a mercaptocarboxylic acid ester of formula III (n is 1 or 2), (c) a 2W30C fatty acid, and (d) an aromatic carboxylic acid, and (C) one or more compounds selected from (e) a dibasic acid of formula IV (R''' is -C(R")=CH-, 1W8C alkyl or phenylene) or its anhydride, and (f) a mercaptocarboxylic acid of formula V, wherein the equivalent ratio of (B)+(C)/(A) is 1.01W2.0. The resulted alkyltin derivative is added with (D) 0.1W50wt%, based on the derivative, of one or more compounds selected from 2W30C fatty acids and aromatic carboxylic acids, and reacted with (E) an oxide and/or hydroxide of an element of the Group II of the periodic table, aluminum or lead.
