Abstract
PURPOSE: To regenerate activated carbon efficiently and economically by making the structure of an activated carbon regeneration tower perfectly hermetically sealable and providing a supply inlet and a drawing outlet for activated carbon, an inflow hole and an outflow hole for a regenerating soln., an injection hole for a neutralizing agent for pH-adjusting the soln., etc.
CONSTITUTION: Activated carbon regeneration tower 1 is of a hermetically sealed type and is provided with activated carbon supply inlet 2, regenerating soln. inflow hole 4, neutralizing agent inflow hole 6, activated carbon supporting porous plate 7, etc. Activated carbon with reduced adsorption power is introduced onto plate 7 from inlet 2, and a regenerating soln. of glucose, urea, NaCl or the like in regenerating soln. tank 8 is heated to about 30W60°C, fed from hole 4, and discharged from outflow hole 5. An org. matter eluent is then added to tank 8, fed into tower 1 from hole 4, and discharged from hole 5. Thus, the carbon is regenerated efficiently and automatically, and the regenerated carbon is drawn out of drawing outlet 3.
