Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform equal power adjustment of exposure optical system for forming multicolor image easily and securely, by batch-controlling the optical path length from the imaging lens to the plural sets of photosensitive drums on the basis of the reference planes of specified common configuration.

CONSTITUTION: At the position of the equal distance to the optical path length from the imaging lens 10 of optical system composed of reflecting mirrors 11aW11c, filters 13aW13c, and mirrors 12aW12c to the photosensitive drums 14aW14c on which images of different colors are imaged, a reference plane 31 is provided at right angle to the optical axis of the lens 10. A model chart 33 is placed on an original platen 1 which is stopped at a position to cover all of slits 3aW3c, and is projected on the reference plane 31 with the mirrors 11aW11c partly removed. The lens 10 and a first mirror 8 constructed integrally with a lighting part 34 and other parts are moved in the direction of optical axis until the deviation of this projected image and the image of the original dimension chart 32 on the reference plane is eliminated, then the optical path lenghts with respect to the reference plane 31 are adjusted at a time. Then, by returning the mirrors 11aW11c and others, the equal power adjustment on the imaging side may be performed easily and securely.
