Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the direct checking of the copying region of the original by providing a monitoring optical system aside from a copying optical system and providing a monitor which projects the projection image of the original by this.
CONSTITUTION: A reduction optical system 2 and a reflecting mirror 3 on its imaging plane are provided in the spacing part right under the original platen 1 of a mirror moving type electrophotographic copier or the like, and a monitor finder 5 is disposed in the position determined by the direction of the reflecting mirror 3 and the position and direction of the reflecting mirror 4. The shutter 15 under the optical system 2 is then controlled to be opened or closed by a solenoid 16 and the original is projected in the finder 5 from its back by lighting of a lighting lamp 14. Hence, the person which is going to do copying is able to readily see the copying surface by viewing the monitor and therefore the position alignment of the original may be done extremely accurately.
