Abstract
PURPOSE: To conduct the variable magnification of a latent image formed on a photosensitive drum in a simple configuration with small error by correcting the optical path of scanned exposure light of an original moved upon rotation of a reflecting member.
CONSTITUTION: Scanned exposure light from a light source of an original 10 relatively moving with respect to the light source if focused on a photosensitive drum through a reflecting mirror 34, rotary reflecting mirrors 37a, 37b, variable power lens 42 and a reflecting mirror 40 to thereby form a latent image on the drum. When this lens 42 is moved along an optical axis in response to the variable magnification, a cam 55 making contact with the roller 44 of the lens 42 is rocked to rotate a rotary shaft 38. Thus, reflecting means 36 provided with the mirrors 37a, 37b is rotarily interlocked to move the mirrors 37a, 37b out of the exposure optical path to thereby correct the optical path length of the scanned exposure light in response to the variable power. Accordingly, it eliminates the necessity of moving the reflecting means along long two parallel bars to thereby simplify the configuration of a variable power unit and to conduct variable power of less error with ready adjustment.
