Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an accurate positioning device which permits adjustment of relative positions of the optical system even after assembling by moving an in-mirror lens and a mirror respectively for specified quantities by way of nuts of different pitches thereby changing their optical path lengths.
CONSTITUTION: When a driving screw shaft 28 is turned by a motor 37, nuts 31, 32 are moved for different distances according to variable powers by means of screws 29, 30 of different pitches. These movements are transmitted by means of rods 24, 24 and 25, 25 to support frames 12, 13, by which an in-mirror lens 4 including a reflecting mirror and a mirror 6 are moved, whereby the variable power latent images on a photosensitive drum by specified changes of the exposure optical path length are formed. If these rods 24, 24 and 25, 25 are moved by pressing a spring 27 and the nut 31 or 32 is turned, then the initial position of the lens 4 and mirror 6 are adjusted even after assembling, thus the positioning of the moving optical system at the changing of magnification may be performed accurately with the constitution of not requiring high accuracy.
