PURPOSE:To secure the quick confirmation for the abnormal state of the transmission line and thus to prevent the malfunction to the transmission and reception by detecting and displaying the abnormal transmission/reception state, if occurs, of the transmission/reception device applying the pulse multiplex communication system. CONSTITUTION:The pulse multiplex communication is carried out in time division between transmitter 1 and receiver 4. Oscillator 110 which generates the clock for the time division, 1st counting block 2 and integrated block 3 are installed to transmitter 1; while receiver 4 consists of 2nd counting block 5, restoration block 6 and fault detection circuit 4A each. Then part of the time-division pulse signal sent from transmitter 1 is supplied to signal terminal 122 of circuit 4A, and this pulse signal is divided through divider circuit 900 into the visible or audible frequency. Transistor TrT2 is driven by the signal turned into the visible frequency to turn on or off pilot lamp L for display of the fault. While TrT3 is driven by the signal turned into the audible frequency to give warning through speaker S for occurrence of the fault.
