Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent an accident by surely making crack inspection with ease by reflecting light, striking a bottle bottom, by a crack surface of the bottle bottom and then by detecting reflected light toward its side. CONSTITUTION:Bottles 10 to be inspected are conveyed by conveyor 2, guided between fixed guides 3 by belt 4 at the entrance of an inspection device, and carried along path 5 being turned on dead plate 12. Once crack 14 of a bottle bottom is detected by one of detection cells 13, the bottle 10 is held on wheel 8 being adsorbed by an adsorbing method and taken onto accumulator table 9 before being released there. At the time of the detection of this crack, nearly the half of the bottle bottom jutting out from conveyor 2 is irradiated with light from projector 6 provided at a low part and the light, reflected at crack 14, passes horizontally through the bottle bottom and then reaches cell 13.
