Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect the end face of the focusing type optical transmission body array from contamination by adding a hood which encloses the envelope of the effective imaging luminous flux sent out from said array and forming the exposure side opening of said hood to slit-form.
CONSTITUTION: A hood 8 is removably added to the exposure side end face 3a of a focusing type optical transmission body array SLA 3. This hood 9 is formed by a pair of lengthwise flat plates 9 which are tilted vertically symmertically and right and left triangle end plates 9a. The opening width of the attached side 3a of the SLA 3 is equal to the thickness of the SLA 3 and the opening width of the exposure side opening 8c is of the size nearly equal to the thickness of the effective imaging luminous flux. Further, surface treatment such as matte coating or the like of, e.g., black color, is applied on the inside surface of said hood 9 in order to prevent flare. By doing in this way, staining of the optical path surface of the effective imaging luminous flux with dust or the like from the photoreceptor 2 is virtually eliminated and the end face of the SLA 3 may be protected from contamination.
