Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable broad range of the brake performance test from high speed to very low speed with one set of variable speed selection unit.
CONSTITUTION: The variable speed selection unit 13 is mounted between the output shaft 24 to which the tested brake 1 and the torque detector 5 measuring the brake performance of the brake are directly coupled via the flywheel 3, and the input shaft 23 directly coupled to the motor. This variable speed selection unit provides the clutches 14W18, gear reducers 19, 20 and the variable speed unit 21, and the suitable selection of the connection and disconnection of each clutch can give an arbitrary number of revolutions from the maximum to very low speed to the tested brake 1.
