Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an ink head operated by heat energy capable of saving energy and of preventing a splashing of ink by treating the ink cell, which includes the orifice, with water repellent or oil repellent. CONSTITUTION:A heater that gives heat energy to the ink is provided to the ink cell with orifice, the state of ink is changed by exothermic action of the heater corresponding to a pulse signal to jet a drop of ink. Water repellent treatment for water soluble ink or oil repellent treatment for oil soluble ink is provided to the rand 22 between the orifice 18 and the heater 16, a meniscus 17 is formed at the postion adjacent to the heater. Since the rand is of a sufficient length, a splashing of ink can be prevented.
