Abstract

PURPOSE: To start lighting exactly even at lower starting voltage by providing an approach conductor, which contacts with luminous tube at ordinary temperature and separates from it during lighting, to the lamp.
CONSTITUTION: The approach conductor 16 is provided along the luminous tube 12 lengthwise, one end of the conductor at the electrode 15b which locates on the base side 2 is mounted on the support 7a of the luminous tube, potential of which is the same as that of the opposite electrode, through the bimetal 17, the other end is held by the support, potential of which is the same as that of the former end. The conductor 16 contacts with the luminous tube at ordinary temperature and is separated from the tube by the bimetal during lighting. By this way, the lighting can exactly be started even at a lower starting voltage by cooperation of the approach conductor and starting voltage in which sinusoidal wave voltage and peak starting voltage are overlapped. Since the approach conductor separates from the luminous tube after lighting, light emitted from the tube is not shielded, blacking and heat deterioration of the approach conductor are prevented.
