Abstract
PURPOSE: To realize the band compression with application of the interlaced scanning system by shifting the phase of the subcarrier by the half cycle in all for the period of the 1-frame scanning.
CONSTITUTION: The luminance signals supplied through terminals 1∼3 plus two color difference signals are multiplied by color encoder 4. In this case, subcarrier entering through terminal 5 receives the phase shift via phase shifter 6 by 1/4 cycle with every field. As a result, the subcarrier component always features the same phase at the same position on the screen, and thus the interlaced scanning can be applied. The signal for the interlaced scanning system is produced by sampler 7 to the output of encoder 4 to be transmitted through terminal 8. At the reception side, the input signals to be supplied to terminal 9 are writtern in sequence into the memory position where frame memory 11 corresponds after the re-sampling given by re-sampler 10 and in synchronization with the sampling frequency of the transmission side. The contents of memory 11 is read out and introduced to color decoder 12 to be converted into the luminance signal and two color difference signals. And these signal are drawn out through terminals 13∼15.
