Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the structure of, and to ensure the operation of, a slow ignitor which alleviates generation of combustion sound and soot upon ignition of a gas water boiler.
CONSTITUTION: As water flows in from a water inlet 13, a diaphragm 5 receives the pressure, displaces a diaphragm 6 and a receiver plate 26, and operates a rod receiver 33 through a rod 25. The gas having passed through a gas cock 37 is limited to a predetermined slow-ignition gas amount at a gap between the rod 25 and a metal 32 inserted in a gas valve 31, before being fed from a gas outlet 23 to a burner. Simultaneously with the displacement of the diaphragm 5, water flows from a water pressure chamber 8 also to a water passage 17 for slow ignition, so that the water pressure in a water pressure chamber 9 becomes equal to that in the chamber 8. The diaphragm 6 for driving the gas valve is displaced on receiving the pressure, the displacement is received by the rod 25, and the gas valve 31 is opened through a rod pin 28 to allow the flow of a full-open amount of gas.
