Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible a clear printing with a limited impact through elevation of the temperature of a color developing substance in the pressure-sensitive copying paper by means of a electrically conductive rubber used on the circumference of a rubber platen in the impact printer while lowering the ink viscosity by the current applied.
CONSTITUTION: The circumferential rubber section 10 of a rubber platen 1 in the impact printer is made up of an electrically conductive rubber. Current flows through the electrically conductive platen 1 to generate heat whereby the printing paper 2 wound on the platen 1 is heated up to the required temperature. Then, a given type element 4 is selected with a type selection drive motor 6 and is made to impact on the electrically conductive rubber platen 1 by means of a hammer through the printing paper 2 and an ink ribbon 3. Thus, a printing is performed. If the printing paper is a carbon paper, a solid ink is melted thereon. In addition, since a printing is made under the lower ink viscosity with the ink ribbon pressed against the heated rubber platen 1 or the printing paper, sufficient printing density can be obtained even with less impact energy of the hammer 5.
