PURPOSE:To obtain such gas laser tube as is extremely high in reliability and output through a simple constitution by forming an insulation layer superior in electric insulation and thermal conductivity on the inside wall of a metallic slender tube forming a discharge path between anode and cathod. CONSTITUTION:A water-cooled jacket 5 consisting of copper and glass is provided on the outer periphery of a slender tube 1 forming a discharge path between anode 2 and cathode 3 and also on the outer periphery of a cathode bulb 4, and a cooling water is introduced through outlet/inlet 5a and 5b to cool down the slender tube 1 and the bulb 4. From forming an insulation layer superior in electric insulation and thermal conductivity on the inside wall of the slender tube 1, a gas laser tube extremely high in reliability and output is obtainable through simple constitution.
