Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the response of crystal scintillatior, by selectively detecting only fluorescence and using the means sufficiently reducing the sensitivity of detection appearent to phosphorescence optically, to reduce the effect of residual light.
CONSTITUTION: The cut filter 6 is inserted between the scintillator 1 consisting of the aluminum case 2, crystal 3, adhesives 4, and glass window 5, and the photo detector 7 such as photo electron multiplier. As the cut filter 6, the dichroic miller having greater transmission rate at fluorescence discharge region and smaller transmission rate for phosphorescence discharge region and of which thin film layers are 11W25, is used. Thus, the effect of residual light can be reduced to about 1/2W1/4 in case of NaI(Tl, and the constitution of the detector can further be sinplified by using the dichroic miller itself as the glass window 5.
