Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to lead out two external connection terminals from either the top or reverse surface of a resonator body by forming an auxiliary electrode, which is connected to a lead-out terminal on the opposite side through a polarizing electrode, on at least either surface. CONSTITUTION:Polarizing electrodes 6a and 6b formed at the time of the polarizing operation of resonator body 1 of a piezoelectric ceramic resonator making use of thickness sliding vibrations are left as they are even after the end of a polarizing process and during the formation of an electrode pattern, auxiliary electrodes 7a and 7b are so formed on both side of resonator body 1 that they will be connected to lead-out electrodes 3a and 3b on the opposite side through polarizing electrodes 6a and 6b. Then, one external connection terminal 4a is connected to lead-out electrode 3a connected to main electrode 2a, and the other external connection terminal 4b to auxiliary electrode 7b connected to main electrode 2b through polarizing electrode 6b.
