Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable high photo sensitivity to be obtained by providing a charge- transfer layer, a first charge-generating layer showing photo sensitivity in a long wavelength region and a second charge-generating layer composed of amorphous selenimu on a conductive substrate.
CONSTITUTION: The solution or dispersion composed primarily of an electron donative material or electron receptive material is coated on a conductive substrate and is then dried, whereby the charge-transfer layer is formed. On this is then coated the solution or dispersion of organic pigments or charge-transfer complex showing photo sensitivity in a longer wavelength side region than about 550nm followed by drying, whereby the first charge-generating layer is formed. Further on this is vacuum-evaporated amorphous selenium, whereby the second charge-generating layer is formed. Since this photoreceptor is capable of effectively utilizing visible light, it is panchromatic and since the charge-generating layer anc charge-transfer layer are separately laminated and recombination of the carriers produced is prevented, it has high sensitivity.
