Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect a switching transistor and a regeneration detecting capacitor, etc., by monitoring proper function of ON-and-OFF operations of a switching element of a regenerative current consuming circuit and circuit-breaking power source immediately if an abnormality occurred.
CONSTITUTION: Regenerative current is charged into a capacitor 28 whereby terminal voltage e1 of a diode 29 is raised. When the terminal voltage e1 has risen to a fixed value, a regenerative current control circuit 52 turns on a transistor 51 to consume the regenerative current through a resistance 50. The transistor 51 is turned off again when the terminal voltage e1 descended. A monitoring circuit 53 compares increase or decrease of the terminal voltage e1 with collector voltage e2 of the transistor 51 and makes an output of an alarm signal to a control circuit 54 when the transistor 51 became out of order. a relay in the control circuit 54 is switched off by the alarm signal, contacts r11 through r13 and r21 through r23 are opened, and an electric motor 4 and a power source 1 are separated from a power inverter 3.
