Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable stable operation to be maintained with less power consumption by drawing the terminal portions of the graphite heater in the furnace chamber downward from the heating zone and connecting the same to non-water-cooled electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Terminal parts 8 of the graphite heater 6 provided in the furnace chamber are drawn out downward in the axial direction from the heating region of heating part 9 and are connected to non-water-cooled electrodes 7 of a large heat radiation area. This heater 6 is built together with the heat insulating layer in a high pressure vessel. With this mechanism, the connection parts of the heater 6 and electrodes 7 make contact with pressure medium gas during operation of the high temperature hot hydrostatic press, whereby they are cooled and their temperature rise is prevented. Damaging of the heating mechanism of the heating part 9 is obviated and the radiation heat shielding means 10 and convection accelerating means in the terminal parts 8 may be readily employed.
