Abstract
PURPOSE: To make possible welding of several kinds with one unit of the electron beam welding machine by controlling the effective radius up to the electron beam welding point with respect to the rotation center of the materials to be welded on the turntable.
CONSTITUTION: The works W to be welded by electron beams are contained in a vacuum vessel 11 and the works W are welded by radiating an electron beam with an electron beam generating unit 12. At this time, the turntable 16 which is disposed with the plural spindle barrels 23 placed with the works W at an equal pitch on the circumference is rotated. The spindle barrel 23 which has come right under the vacuum vessel 11 slides its sliding barrel 25 upward and closes the opening of the vacuum vessel 11 with a closing body 26 through engagement of clutch pawls. The inside of the vessel 11 is evacuated to a vacuum and an electron beam is generated. At the same time, the revolving spindle 27 of the spindle barrel 23 is revolved and the work W is radiated with the electron beam along its concentrical circle locus with respect to the rotating center P, whereby the annular portion is welded. Next, the turntable 16 is rotated by 1 pitch and the welding point Q of the beam is adjusted according to the effective radius of the work W by the oscillating position adjusting means 50 provided to each spindle barrel 23.
