Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a lubricant which has a specified ratio of refractory substrate to iron oxide, and is small in consolidated density, and easy to redisperse, by containing refractory substrate of zirconium powder or the like, colloidal silica of alcohol disperse medium, iron oxide, and organic solvent by specified rate.
CONSTITUTION: This lubricant consists of refractory substrate selected from zir- conium powder and chromite powder by 25W55% by weight, colloidal silica of alcohol disperse medium by 5W15%, iron oxide by 5W35%, and organic solvent for the remainder, of which ratio of refractory substrate to iron oxide is in the range of 1:1W10:1. The grain size of the refractory substrate should be as small as possible, preferably 44μ or less. The grain size of silica should be about 1W100mμ, preferably 5W30mμ. And the grain size of iron oxide should be preferably 62μ or less.
