Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a PTC-characteristic heater in any size, by providing a pair of band electrodes on each side of a heat-resisting insulator substrate which has numerous holes, providing a resistor film between the electrodes, stacking many such substrates with one another and using their holes as air passages.
CONSTITUTION: The band electrodes 3, 3' are provided on each side of the heat- resisting insulator substrate 1 through which the holes 2 previously perforated. The resistor film 4 having a positive resistance-to-temperature coefficient is provided on almost the entire surface of the substrate between the electrodes 3, 3', thereby making a unit heating plate. A plurality of such unit heating plates are stacked with one another as heat-resisting packings are placed on the peripheral parts of the plates. The holes of the substrates are used as the air passages. The resistance resistor film 4 may be divided into band pieces at a prescribed spacing.
