Abstract

PURPOSE: To avoid the malfunction in squelch switching circuit and to prevent the deterioration in articulation, by turning on the noise detection amplifying transistor while small noise and turning off when noise is increased.
CONSTITUTION: When noise component is picked up from the output demodulated with frequency discriminator by BPF13 and amplified 14, the noise amplified is fed to the variable resistor R1 and grounded through the collector and emitter of the transistor TrQ1 via the resistors R2 and R3. Further, it is picked up at the squelch switching circuit via the noise rectifier 15 and noise detection amplifying TrQ2 from the output of the resistor R2. When noise is small, TrQ2 is OFF to operate the squelch switching circuit open, and when noise is increased, the squelch switching circuit is closed via the rectifier 15 with the voltage drop of the resistor R1. Thus, the malfunction in the squelch switching circuit is avoided and the deterioration in the articulation can be avoided.
