Abstract

PURPOSE: To transfer the residual toner on the film and remove from the drum, by pressing the film having an electric charge of the reverse polarity to the toner on the back surface against the drum while radiating light to the photosensitive drum on which residual toner is deposited.
CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent tube 9 radiates a photosensitive drum 1 through a light-transmitting guide roller 8 and a light-transmitting belt 6. A photo semiconductor layer 3 of the radiated part is made to conduct, and the electric charge thereof is transferred on the substrate. On the other hand, a conductive layer 5 formed on the back face of the belt 6 is applied with a potential of the reverse polarity to residual toner 2 by a driving conductive rubber roller 7. Since the residual toner 2 is powerfully attracted electrostatically by the conductive layer 5 on the back face of the belt 6, the majority of the residual toner 2 is transferred from the photo semiconductor layer to the film 4 and is removed. In this constitution, when the residual toner is removed, the service life of the photosensitive drum may be extended 10 times as compared with that of mechanical removal.
