Abstract
PURPOSE: To plan to miniaturize a pump turbine by regulating an inside diameter of an outlet port for a wing wheel, an inside width of the same and a maximum head of the pump at an specified relation.
CONSTITUTION: A runner of a pump turbine, consisting of a runner crown 2, a runner wing 3 and a runner band 4, is connected directly to a lower end of a main shaft 1 for the pump turbine, and guide vanes 7 are provided outwardly in radial directions thereof. When the runner of the pump turnine is operated in pumping operation, water, flown through an inlet of the wing, becomes high-pressure water by being given an energy by the runner wing 3 and a flowing quantity thereof is controlled by an opening degree of the guide vanes 7, then, is flown into an involute casing. Here, the pump turbine, miniaturized in an inside width B and an inside diameter D of an outlet port for a wing wheel thereof, may be obtained by regulating relations among the inside width B, the inside diameter D and a maximum head Hpmax of the pump at a relation of B/D ≤0.1509W0.000189Hpmax.
