Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure a high accuracy for the constant current circuit with a simple constitution by using the FET as the load current control element.
CONSTITUTION: FET11 is used, and load 1 and load detection resistance 2 are connected to drain D and source S of FET11 each to form a load circuit. At the same time, the voltage is applied to detection amplifier 4 from reference voltage 3 and resistance 2, and the voltage difference is amplified 4 to be applied to gate G of FET11. Thus the drain current of FET11, i.e., load current I is controlled to the high-accuracy constant current. In this case, the gate current is very small in comparison with the drain and source current for FET11 owing to the element characteristics, and as a result the constant current circuit featuring the accuracy of about 1×10-3W1×10-6 can be easily obtained. Furthermore, as load 1 is connected to the power source side, no overcurrent flows to FET11 even with the ground fault of the load. Thus the special overcurrent control element can be omitted.
