Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize a quick and assured detection for the leak of the cooling water tube by supplying the gas containing the helium into the cooling water tube after exhaustion of the cooling water and then detecting the leaked helium at the vapor side of the steam condenser.
CONSTITUTION: When the cooling water tube having the lead of seawater is specified by the alarm given from the electric conduction gauge, the seawater in water rooms 4 and 5 at the outlet side plus cooling water tubes 2 and 2 are exhausted. Then the workers enters rooms 4 and 5 to connect flexible hose 24 of 2nd tentative closing component 25 in the helium gas distributor device to the opening part of helium gas injection rest in room 4, and at the same time the opening part of component 25 is pressed to tube panel 6 as if the opening part covered over the opened region of the cooling water tube group. While in room 5, the other opening of the cooling water tube group corresponding to room 4 is closed tentatively via 1st tentative closing component 23 of the distributor device, and then valve 15 is opened to supply the helium gas. If some leaking area exists, the helium gas enters detector 20 via air extractor 17 and gas waste processing facilities 18. Thus the leak of the tube can be detected assuredly.
