Abstract

PURPOSE: To widen width of deep trench reasonably, efficiently and economically by repeating such operations that include step to lower bucket having excavator attached thereto along reference vertical face of trench, step to slightly loosen hoisting rope for the bucket by extracting extensible cylinder, and step to excavate top face of one side of french to be widened by plow-like excavating cutter of excavator by moving it in transverse direction.

CONSTITUTION: Extensible cylinder 14 is slightly extended so as to have hoisting rope 13 loosened by the length equal to extended length of cylinder 14. Nextly, impact cylinder 15 is extracted to hoist bucket 1 such a degree that lowermost end of plow-like excavating cutter 10 of excavator attached to the bucket 1 is slightly spaced above from prearranged soil face P to be excavated. In the nest, bucket 1 is rapidly dropped by quick discharging oil in the cylinder 15 in order to push cutter 10 into soil face P by impact. Thereupon, excavating cylinder 12 is operated so as to have cutter 10 worked transversely from left to right, and excavated gravel is dropped into bucket 1. The operations are repeated in sequence until bucket 1 is fully filled up with gravel, and filled up gravel is transported out of trench H for discharging by bucket 1 which may be reused or exchanged to repeat like operations.
